What is a Doula?

Research shows that working with a doula leads to better birth outcomes:  four times less likely to have a low birth weight baby, two times less likely to have a birth complication, more likely to initiate breastfeeding, and increased belief from the mom in her capacity to succeed.

Much like a wedding planner coordinates the details of your special day, a birth doula orchestrates the elements of your birthing experience. I am here to assist you in navigating the various choices, options, and decisions that come with pregnancy and childbirth.

Similar to a mountain climbing guide leading you through challenging terrain, I am by your side during all parts of labor. Providing hands-on support, encouragement, and advocacy, my goal is to help you navigate the peaks and valleys of childbirth with confidence.

As a concierge, my role is to ensure your needs and desires are met. From helping you understand your options to advocating for your preferences, I am dedicated to making your birthing experience as smooth and enjoyable as possible.

Beyond the roles of planner, guide, and concierge, I am your companion and confidante. Birth is a deeply personal and emotional experience, and having a friend who understands, supports, and encourages you can make all the difference.
